Most prostitutes would not engage in sexual activity if they already had the money they charged for their sex acts. In other words, prostitution for the prostitute is about business and is not about sexual impulse. If a prostitute was suddenly wealthy, if they won the lottery, very few would remain prostitutes. If you remove money from the equation, you'd severely reduce prostitution.
This means that most prostitutes are not attracted to their clients. In fact, most are probably disgusted by them. The typical normal mating routine where both individuals size up the other is abandoned with prostitution. Yes, the client is attracted to the prostitute. The strong demand for prostitutes comes from the lack of supply to sex for the client. But the prostitute is not physically discriminating of the client (in the same way they would be without prostitution). So long as the client has the required fee, the prostitute performs the act.
Because most prostitutes are disgusted by their clients, they have to perform mental techniques to separate themselves from their clients. Sex acts become like hot dog eating contests, where the food no longer is eaten for taste or nutrition. Prostitution is about the money and not about the sex. Such techniques warp the natural sex drive. This makes the chance for any normal sexual activity after prostitution extremely low for the prostitute.
For the client, there is a moral argument to avoid prostitution based on a strong attraction requirement. Clients pay for sex out of self-interest. The client wants sex and is willing to pay the money for the act. But the client does not consider the prostitute's weak attraction. From a moral perspective, you should want to attract someone at their very best, even though it's easier to get them at their worst.
